Bilingual Friday: What Do You Think of English Immersion?

In the small town of Clovis, CA a suburb of Fresno, CA a successful English immersion program has been set in place.

Many schools in the country are looking at immersion programs. They are turning to what’s proving to be great way to help teachers be better “coaches for English learners.”

I'm not surprised that this is taking off. Spanish and Chinese immersion schools here in the US are absolute gems. It seems natural that it might work the other way around, too!

I wish more schools would adapt this way of teaching. When it comes to being multi-lingual, the US is behind.

Knowledge of other languages greatly enhances learners’ understanding of languages in general and enables people to use their native language more effectively. Foreign language learners have stronger vocabulary skills in English, a better understanding of the language, and improved literacy in general - enhance these skills and again, you’ll be much more employable.As according to the changing scenerio now-a-dayslanguage immersion is growing popularly in number of countries due to logistical, economic and touristic interest towards many nations
